Lampedusa is a real paradise on earth, the largest island belonging to the Pelagie archipelago. Formerly called "Lopadùsa", Lampedusa is the ideal destination to enjoy a holiday between sea and nature, thanks to its wonderful beaches and its 320 hectares of Nature Reserve along the southern coast.

1 - Il Ritrovo restaurant

A restaurant located in the heart of the city of Lampedusa, which offers above all typical Lampedusan cuisine but also earth dishes. The restaurant is designed with a rustic style but at the same time there is a really welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel at home. The quality of the raw materials is really high (if they run out of ingredients they are eliminated from the menu so as not to offer frozen products). To try!

2 - Martorana gastronomy

A great place where being able to taste the typical Sicilian specialties and beyond. He works mainly with the take-away service but there are also tables set up outside the restaurant where you can consume at the same price. A restaurant located inside the hotel of the same name and overlooking the Guitgia beach. The Giglio restaurant offers traditional Sicilian dishes, especially based on fish, in a welcoming place where you can also admire the wonderful surrounding landscape. The menus offered are at a fixed price with fresh and quality raw materials that vary every day: two starters of your choice, two first courses of your choice, side dish, fruit and dessert. 4 - Ristorante Pizzeria Mir Mar

Located inside the hotel of the same name, the Mir Mar pizza restaurant offers its guests a spectacular view of the beautiful beach of Guitgia. Prices are great as well the specialties offered are both fish and meat based. You can opt for either the indoor air-conditioned room or the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea; tourist menus based on fish are offered for € 15,00 with first, second and side dishes, but also vegetarian menus and with pizza.

5 - Onda Blu Refreshment Point

An excellent place to stop, perhaps after a long day spent in the beautiful Spiaggia dei Conigli. At the Blue Wave you can starting with a good breakfast, continuing with an aperitif and following with a good lunch. A nice van where you can find sandwiches, ice cream, cold dishes, rotisserie, ice cream and fruit, open from 8:00 to 21:00. Here you can also have the opportunity to rent an umbrella and treat yourself to a good happy hour at sunset.

Specialties and typical dishes

In Lampedusa you will really be spoiled for choice among the many traditional delights present in the numerous restaurants, bakeries, trattorias and street food. There traditional Sicilian cuisine is among the most important in Italy and we absolutely don't want you to miss anything on your trip!

Among the appetizers we certainly find fish specialties such as mussels, sardines, anchovies, squid and shrimp, while among the first unmissable pasta with sardines, linguine with seafood, spaghetti with scampi, spaghetti with bottarga and risotto alla marinara. Second courses include grilled or baked fish such as mackerel, sea bass, red snapper, grouper, sea bream and squid. Do not miss the grouper couscous and other fish caught in the Mediterranean. Among the desserts obviously don't miss the cassata and the cannoli and to finish the meal an excellent limoncello. As for the local street food, the fantastic arancine are absolutely worth mentioning, while, for a top breakfast, a fresh granita accompanied by a soft and sweet brioche!
