The interiors are spacious and full of light and reflect the undulating shapes of the exterior. They are made of Douglas fir wood, with warm and harmonious shades, in perfect contrast with the cold of the external steel. Historical notes, curiosities and practical info: what to know in brief

The construction was strongly desired by Walt Disney's widow, Lillian Disney, who, in the 80s, decided to donate $ 50 million to build a new home for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The project was chosen from 72 proposals and cost $ 270 million. Begun in 1991 it was completed only in 2003; its completion was possible thanks to substantial contributions from the Disney family and private donations.

Defined by the architect himself "a sailboat with the wind in its sails", the project was chosen by Lilian Disney herself. The wavy exterior resembles the petals of a rose, Lilian's favorite flower. Note theorgan, among the most beautiful and curious in the world which, due to its particular shape, is often nicknamed "French Fries" (reminiscent of French fries). It consists of 6134 reeds to tune which took 2000 hours! The longest barrel measures 9 meters.

The building stands on an elevated platform and features entrances on the 4 corners, each having a different function: the Founders Hall to the northwest, the Cascada to the southeast, the musicians garden to the southwest and the main entrance to the foyer to the northeast.
