    Saxony is one of the 16 German Bundesländer and is located in the eastern part of Germany. We are exactly on the border with the Czech Republic to the south and Poland to the east, while on the north side it borders with the German Land of Brandenburg and on the west side with those of Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The three major cities of the Land are Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz.

    DIY Saxony: flights, costs, best time and tips

    To organize a trip to Saxony you have to start by identifying the best time, that is to say from mid-May to early October. In spring you will find beautiful landscapes in bloom, in autumn everything is tinged with red, while in summer the temperatures are pleasant and the days sunny.

    As regards the how to get there and how to move, Dresden and Leipzig are connected to the main Italian cities mainly by the German airline Lufthansa. To move between the different cities you can easily use the railway network, very efficient and punctual, but car rental is still recommended, especially if you want to visit different castles and small villages (starting from € 30,00 / day).
