    Where it is

    Chile is located on the west coast of South America and is bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east by the mountain range of the Andes. It borders with Peru, Bolivia and Argentina and is located in an area included in the so-called fire belt with a high seismic risk given by the movements of the Nazca plate. Some territories located in the Pacific Ocean also belong to Chile such as Easter Island and the archipelago of the Juan Fernandez Islands.



    10-day itinerary: Nature and exploration between the Atacama Desert and Patagonia

    1. First day: Arrival in Santiago de Chile and hotel accommodation.
    2. Second day: Tour of the Capital with a visit to its many attractions such as the central Plaza de Armas, the colorful and lively Mercado Central and the famous Palaco de la Moneda, whose history is full of anecdotes to discover.
    3. Third day: Flight to the Atacama Desert and Moon and Death Valley Evening Tour, where hikes generally depart around 16pm and will allow you to admire the breathtaking desert landscape from all points with the best views.

    5. Fifth day: Last day in the Atacama Desert with a visit to the Tatio Geysers, the highest geothermal field in the world, made up of 64 geysers and located more than 4.000 meters above the sea level.
    6. Sixth day: Return flight to the capital and free evening in Santiago where you can experience the colorful and lively life of the city by tasting typical dishes and being carried away in the festive atmosphere that represents it.
    7. Seventh day: Departure for Patagonia, arrival in the city of Punta Arenas and visit to the city which boasts among its main attractions the spectacular Alberto de Agostini National Park and numerous museums that tell the story of the country's indigenous peoples.
    8. Eighth day: Guided tour of Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most important in the country declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and famous for the presence of giant monoliths created by the erosion of glaciers.
    9. Ninth day: Visit to Lake Gray and its glacier, one of the largest among the glaciers of Patagonia where it is possible to make private boat trips or trekking along the beaches. Return to Punta Arenas by bus in the afternoon.

    14-day itinerary: the wonders in the north of Chile and the island of Chiloé

    1. First day: arrival in Santiago de Chile and hotel accommodation.
    2. Second day: visit of the capital which boasts among its most important attractions the Plaza de Armas, the colorful Mercado Central and the famous Palaco de la Moneda.
    3. Third day: flight from Santiago to Puerto Mont, then move to the island of Chiloé, composed of a major island and an archipelago of about forty islands, famous for its characteristic villages of colorful stilt houses and breathtaking beaches.
    4. Fourth day: bus to Petrouhé and visit of the city with its important museums dedicated to the ancient indigenous peoples, and to the marvelous Petrohué Waterfalls, the symbolic waterfalls of the city.
    5. Fifth day: bus in the direction of Castro and visit of the city famous for its colorful stilt houses and ancient wooden churches declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
    6. Sixth day: tour inside the Parque National Chiloè which houses thousands of specimens of flora and fauna that can only be admired in these ecosystems, and finally a few hours of relaxation in one of the wonderful beaches of the island.
    7. Seventh day: transfer by bus to Puerto Varas where it is possible to organize an excursion to the famous Lake Todos Los Santos with its emerald waters surrounded by volcanoes.
    8. Eighth day: excursion of the Paso Desolaciòn around the Osorno Volcano, from the height of 2.662 meters and definitely worth exploring for its unique rock formations and for the view that extends over the whole island towards the ocean.
    9. Ninth day: bus to Valdivia and visit of this ancient river town with its fishermen's markets and the small island of the Coral Bay which can be visited with a private boat excursion.
    10. Tenth day: move to Niebla and guided tour of Niebla Castle, a high fortress that watches over this ancient town and which was once used by the natives to protect themselves from colonial invasions.
    11. Eleventh day: move to the small town of Pucòn and excursion to the Parque Nacional Huerquehue where you can hike among its green hills and explore the numerous lakes within it, such as Lake Toros.
    12. Twelfth day: guided excursion on the Villarrica Volcano, one of the most fascinating stratovolcanoes in the world covered by glaciers whose view will definitely leave you breathless.
    13. Thirteenth day: bus to Temuco and visit to Parque National Conguillo, another of the most important reserves of the Chilean Andes which hosts particular species of local flora and fauna, such as its trees which are called "umbrellas" due to their characteristic shape.
    14. Fourteenth day: return flight to Santiago and departure for home.

    The costs for a trip to Chile are slightly higher in relation to those that are the neighboring South American countries but definitely accessible if you choose the booking periods well and pay attention to some details.

    Un return flight from Italy to Santiago de Chile costs, if booked in advance, around € 650,00; as regards the costs of living, on the other hand, for a tourist menu it is possible to spend very little (starting from 4.000 pesos, about € 5,00), internal transport between the various cities by bus has a cost from 8.000 to 12.000 pesos ( € 10,00 / € 15,00), while for the excursions, if organized by private tour operators, prices are slightly higher than for simple entrance tickets that can be purchased independently and have costs ranging from 3.000 to 5.000 pesos, (from € 3,50 to € 6,00).
