Beaches and places not to be missed in Formentera

The Caribbean beaches of Illetes and Llevant

We have talked several times about the beaches of Formentera. But believe me when I tell you that they have nothing to envy to some overseas destination. The Caribbean of Europe is just a two hour flight from us. The beaches of Illetes they are located in the northernmost part of the island and can be reached by bicycle or on foot if you want to fully enjoy the natural landscape that surrounds them. Perhaps less well known it is Playa de Llevant - near Ses Illetes -, a very white beach characterized by dunes and rocky promontories. Here, for example, we find the famous restaurant Tanga.

Playa Migjorn and Calo 'des Morts

To the south of the island we find Playa Migjorn, almost 6 km of beach characterized by small coves, crystal clear sea, white and fine sand. Here set like a pearl, between Es Arenais and Es Ram we find Es Calo'd'Es Mort "Cove of the dead". To reach it you have to struggle a little because you can only get there on foot. You will not be disappointed. The only thing, try to reach her early in the morning as she can get crowded.

A walk in Sant Francesc and Es Pujols, the two largest and most animated towns of Formentera

The pulsating centers of the island are precisely San Francesc Xavier and Es Pujols. In San Francesc I recommend that you have breakfast in the morning, you will find several bars such as the Big Store. Here you can order fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies and have a breakfast of champions, to start the day well. Es Pujols is the town located near the salt pans and hosts restaurants and night clubs. Go there in the evening for a nice fish-based dinner in one of the many restaurants or for a walk. We recommend Can Loca, with a large terrace with spectacular views and specializing in fresh fish in salt, oven or grilled. For lovers of nightlife do not forget to take a trip to the mythical Bananas & Co.
