Author and references

It is one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in all of Chicago. Made in 1888 by architects Daniel burnham e John Root, The Rookery is one of the most successful examples of a period “commercial” building in the whole city, very detailed in its decorations and with wide views of lights skilfully combined with large spaces. At the beginning of the 900th century, another very important master of the architectural art, Frank Lloyd Wright, contributed his skill to complete the building by remodeling the lobby.

Today it is possible to enter for free right in the lobby of The Rookery, but the ideal would be to follow one of the tours that illustrate the history, events and salient anecdotes related to the famous building.
