1 - Spiaggia dei Conigli, south west coast

This certainly is the most famous beach of Lampedusa, located on the southern coast, in front of the islet from which it takes its name. To get to the Spiaggia dei Conigli, protected by Legambiente, it is necessary a walk of about 10 minutes or so, with suitable shoes and not with slippers, because you walk among the rocks.

The beach is then formed by white sand, with a shallow and transparent backdrop suitable for everyone, even for families with younger children. Furthermore, here it is possible to meet the Caretta Caretta turtles, a protected species because of its risk of extinction. An advice: in the height of summer try to arrive early!

2 - Cala Maluk, south east coast

It is a splendid cove near the port of Lampedusa, in the busiest part of the island. Cala Maluk is therefore easy to reach but, given the presence of other small coves nearby, it is preferable to reach it by boat and go around all the coves of this part of Lampedusa.

The beach is rocky, the seabed slopes down into a turquoise sea and becomes quite deep. Therefore pay attention to the bathrooms especially in the presence of children, and bring with you rubber shoes suitable for rocks.

3 - Cala Pulcino, south west coast

This cove is located near the Spiaggia dei Conigli, is a wide beach but with little sand available to lie down due to the rocks that rise above the water. It can only be reached on foot, after having left the car in a parking lot, and then continuing through a pine forest until you reach the coast.

It's a lot famous for its caves and beautiful backdrops. The sand, even offshore, is very white, the seabed is shallow and suitable for diving and snorkeling.

4 - Guitgia beach, south east coast

This a wide and very popular beach is located near the port of Lampedusa, in the most populated part of the island. It is very easy to reach and it is one of the busiest on the island, especially by families with children. This is thanks to its very white sand, its shallow waters and its accommodation facilities there are equipped bathrooms and umbrella and deckchair rental services.

5 - Cala Greca, southern coast

This beach is located within a narrow inlet in the southern part of the island, between Punta e 'Manzu and Contrada Cala Madonna. It is characterized by a small strip of golden sand between two rocky walls. There is also the possibility to rent beach umbrella and sunbeds, the space to stretch out freely is tight, especially in high season.

To reach the cove is it is necessary to leave the car at the sanctuary of Porto Salvo, go up the opposite slope, pass a campsite and then walk along an acacia wood. The water, right in front of the beach, is often populated with algae, but further on the seabed becomes transparent.

This beach it is located near the port of Lampedusa, on the east coast of the island, next to Cala Maluk. It's a mixed beach, with sand to stretch out and rocky walls all around.

Molto suitable for families with children, as it is possible to rent umbrellas and sunbeds and there is also a historic kiosk to eat and cool off. The splendid seabed is low and suitable for those who want to snorkel. Furthermore, the cove is very easy to reach, with the possibility of parking not far away.

8 - Cala Galera, south coast

This beach is located inside an inlet between Punta Pruvulina and Punta e 'Manzu, right in the Lampedusa nature reserve. It's a splendid unspoilt beach, not equipped, there are rocks overlooking the blue water and also a wide strip of sand where it is possible to lie down and relax in front of this incredible natural panorama.

For diving lovers, this beach is ideal because its sandy bottoms are particularly rich in fish. The Mediterranean scrub all around is characterized by mulberry trees, figs and carobs.

This cove is located near the Lampedusa airport, on the east coast of the island. IS one of the quietest beaches, with a sandy cove between the high cliffs. It can be easily reached by parking nearby, or even by boat.

There is possibility to rent an umbrella for the few places available, and a small bar for drinking, but bring your packed lunch! It is theideal for spending a day of calm even in the height of summer, when the other beaches are often crowded.

10 - Cala Creta, east coast

Is situated in the eastern part of the island, not far from Cala Pisana, another splendid place, and from Lampedusa airport. Easily accessible also by car, very popular on the boat. The eastern part is very interesting because it is protected from the sirocco that often pulls on the beaches of the southern coast.

There is no sand here, but it was equipped a small stretch of rock with a concrete pier which overlooks the sea, characterized by a high turquoise seabed. And so not recommended for children, but suitable for those who love diving. It is truly splendid, thanks to the tranquility, the turquoise sea and the rocks that adorn it.

Lampedusa is a magical island and its beaches are all worth visiting to relax and enjoy the blue sea. The season is also quite long, still in October it is possible to enjoy the beach. Connections are also possible from cities such as Bologna, Bergamo, Rome and Pisa during the summer season. During the rest of the year, connections are guaranteed with Palermo and Catania. By sea, by hydrofoil from the Sicilian coasts, it takes about 4 hours.

To get around the island you need to consider the rent a scooter, very popular with tourists, or electric bikes. However, you can use the two bus lines, blue and red, which run every hour from the center of Lampedusa, from 08:30 to 20:30, even towards the coves, and a ticket costs € 1,00.
