Had it happened to me already? in the past to visit the island of Ischia in the months more? hot, like in July and August for? often, talking with some friends more? times they advised me to visit the island at the end of September in order to enjoy the places that are crowded in the summer. total tranquility.
Driven by this advice together with 2 other friends we booked a hotel on the island and moved by car.
We arrived in Ischia on September 24th, with a still summer climate and as soon as we arrived at our Hotel, Hotel Stella Maris, located in Casamicciola Terme, we immediately felt at home. The staff ? he was very friendly, he gave us a triple room with a very impressive sea view. The well-kept environment and the good quality services. We immediately left with our tour to visit the beaches of Ischia. Leaving the hotel we first made a jump to the center of Casamicciola to enjoy a good coffee? and croissant at the Topless Bar. We continued immediately after to the bay of San Montano at the foot of the Negombo thermal park. We were able to take the opportunity to walk on the wonderful sandy beach and enjoy a wonderful natural landscape. After a few hours we returned to the hotel to taste the typical Ischian dishes that the chef of the Hotel Stella Maris expertly prepared for us.
In the afternoon we went out to the town of Barano d'Ischia where? located the Maronti beach, a magnificent stretch of sea with an adjoining beach about 3 km long and surrounded by majestic hills whose cliffs, sloping down to the sea, hide the entrances of dark ravines which, in Ischia, are known by the term "cave ", often home to powerful thermal springs such as that of the? Cava Scura ?. After over an hour of walking on the beach we decided to retire to the hotel for a rest before dinner. After dinner we took the opportunity to visit the characteristic center of Casamicciola Terme which in the evening is pleasant, with several outdoor clubs and live music. The day ? it was long so we decided to go back to the hotel.
On the second day, after an excellent breakfast at the Stella Maris, we immediately headed to Ischia Ponte to visit the fantastic Aragonese Castle, a fortification built on an old rock of volcanic origin and connected to the eastern part of the island thanks to a long masonry bridge. over 200 meters and which, moreover, d? the name of the nearby historic village of the locality? bell, called Ischia Ponte, formerly Borgo di Celsa. What to say, from the pi point? high you can enjoy a 360 view? on the island and all there is? of wonderful surroundings, such as the island of Capri, Procida and the Gulf of Naples.
After completing our tour at the Aragonese Castle we made a trip to Sorgeto, an inlet, home to a real outdoor thermal park with hot and mineral springs, sauna and therapeutic vapors, donated by Mother Nature to the Island of Ischia in ancient times, and today available free of charge for all those looking for a place to recover from stress and daily fatigue.
In the afternoon we left (unfortunately) from the port of Ischia to Pozzuoli.
Visiting Ischia in September? highly recommended precisely why? any place can you? enjoy it fully, without the summer chaos.
