Ranking of the most important regions beautiful of Italy

Italy is a much loved nation, both by Italians but even more by foreigners. The tourist flows speak for themselves: people and groups from all over Europe and beyond love lakes, seas, mountains, cities of art of our beautiful country and love to spend their holidays or even short weekends within our borders.
But what are they the most loved regions of Italy? We wanted to draw up a ranking, asking your opinion as always ...

We have done a sample survey, inviting 10.000 members of the community to express their preferences, based on criteria such as landscapes and environmental beauty, richness of the artistic-cultural heritage, wealth of leisure and entertainment opportunities and general quality of tourist services. Finally we combined the results of the survey with international data on the approval rating of Italian regions abroad.
Here is the top ten that came out!



10 - Liguria, 35 points

Suffice it to mention the Cinque Terre to say a lot about the scenic beauty of Liguria: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore represent one naturalistic wealth much appreciated by tourists, especially foreigners.

From the point of view of leisure and entertainment, Liguria is not particularly developed, and the same applies to transport services: currently, in addition to the motorway, there is only one railway line, single track. In addition to the Cinque Terre, cities like Genoa and locations such as Sanremo they are of enormous historical and cultural importance, and are known all over the world.

Immediately after Liguria in the ranking of the most beautiful regions of Italy, Piedmont stands out. Torino, the regional capital, has a very ancient history and it was also the first capital of the Kingdom of Italy, from 1861 to 1865: the city is full of museums and palaces that belonged to the kings.

From the point of view of the offer of tourist services, Piedmont is well organized: theCaselle airport it is well connected with the main destinations, e Turin also has a metro line. It's not just Turin that deserves a visit: let's remember Moncalieri, Venaria, Acqui Terme, Cuneo, Ivrea.

In our ranking of the most beautiful regions of Italy, Sicily could not be missing, with its own splendid sea and archeological sitesi of enormous historical importance, such as the Valley of the Temples.

Even from the point of view of entertainment, Sicily is very popular, especially by young people: San Vito Lo Capo is currently one of the favorite seaside resorts for under 35s. For those who want to tour Sicily we recommend the car rental.



7 - Campania, 39 points

With one point more than Sicily, Campania takes 7th place in the standings. Although the general trend of leisure and entertainment is lower than in Sicily, the Campagnia is most appreciated by foreign tourists, who like to visit places like the Amalfi Coast el 'Isle of Capri. Numerous foreign VIPs spotted in those areas: one of the last was Paul McCartney.

6 - Emilia Romagna, 41 points

The Romagna coast offers some of the most famous discos of the entire Adriatic coast, such as the Pineta e Vanquish di Milano Marittima, and during peak periods there are night buses. Foreign tourism is on the rise.

Florence is served from High speed train, and there are numerous railway connections within the region. There Chianti area is ideal for relaxing and for a relaxing food and wine holiday, while Florence with its numerous museums - including the famous Uffizi - and the Churches is one of the most popular cities of art in Italy.

4 - Trentino Alto Adige, 44 points

I breathtaking landscapes, the numerous lakes, high topsand with renowned ski slopes make Trentino Alto Adige a territory beaten both by Italians and by foreign neighbors of Austria and Germany. For those who appreciate culture and history, Trento, Bolzano and Merano they are very interesting places.

Here we are in our Top Ten, with the Lazio region holding nothing less than Rome capital city. Rome is one of the favorite destinations for tourists, both Italian and foreign. Impossible to mention all the historical, artistic and cultural riches, but certainly the way of Imperial Forums, the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, Navona Square e Spanish Steps they are absolute "must have" in the life of all of us.

Also in Rome, on the Trastevere there is fun late into the night. In addition to Rome, Lazio offers other places that are worth a visit, such as theIsland of Ponza, Cassino, TiFlights.

In second place in the rankings of the most beautiful regions of Italy we find Lombardy. There are numerous other minor citizens who make Veneto a region of intense beauty, such as Cittadella and Bassano del Grappa. The Veronese shore of Lake Garda has numerous amusement parks: remember Gardaland, Medieval Times, Movie Studios.
