10 things to see: beaches and places of interest

    1. Phuket town: a quiet and peaceful town but full of entertainment. The old town is characterized by three different types of buildings: the public buildings that house schools and government offices, the shop houses in the center and the large Sino-colonial buildings owned by the "tin oligarchs". Do not miss the Ranong Road market with handcrafted fabrics, to buy the typical Thai and Malaysian sarongs (pareos).
    2. Promthep Cape: it is located in the extreme south of the island of Phuket and is the most photographed place for its sunset, the most spectacular of the whole island.
    3. Nai Yang Beach: it is located on the north-west coast of Phuket, inside the Nai Yang National Park and is particularly suitable for snorkeling due to the beauty of its seabed.
    4. Mai Khao beach: it is located on the north west coast of Phuket Island, inside the Nai Yang National Park and is famous because in the dry season (between October and February) the turtles lay their eggs.
    5. Patong Beach: it is the most important and largest city beach for tourism in Phuket. It is equipped with accommodation facilities and clubs, active above all at night, so it is particularly suitable for young people and those who do not want to give up the nightlife.
    6. Rawai and Nai Harn beach: the landscape of Rawai is surrounded by palm trees, and here it is possible to visit the village of the "sea gypsies", that is the minority of nomadic fishermen of Malay origin present on the island. Nai Harn is located under Patong, on the southern tip of the island, is characterized by soft golden sand, in an unspoiled and secluded area. In the bay of Ao Sane, past the right side of the beach, there are many tropical fish and corals. It is a popular destination for locals.
    7. Kata Beach: tropical beach, one of the most beautiful on the southwest coast of Phuket. It is perfect for swimming because its bottom is sloping and for taking a nice walk on the fine sand surrounded by coconut palms. It is the beach suitable for families. Don't miss a trip to the beautiful cove of Nui Beach.
    8. Karon beach: rarely crowded, a real corner of peace. The locals call it "the beach of singing sand" because the sand is so soft that when you step on it produces a unique and particular sound.
    9. Windmill Viewpoint: one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island of Phuket. Here you can admire a less touristy sunset than that of Phromphep Cape, but just as spectacular.
    10. Kamala Beach and coral reef: it is located about 10 km north of Patong Beach, but it is totally different. It is spectacular because from here you can admire the coral reef, a few meters from the beach.
