    The island of Nosy Be is located in the Indian Ocean and precisely in Mozambique channel, north west of Madagascar, just 8km from its coast. The island is surrounded by an archipelago of other smaller islands.

    • Weather: The climate of Nosy Be is mild, temperatures range from 20 to 30 degrees according to the seasons and the humidity is moderate. The water temperature allows you to swim all year round - more info on when to go to Madagascar
    • Best time: The best time to go is from May to September, when rainy days are scarce and average temperatures around 24 degrees.
    • Period to avoid: There is no real period to avoid, however from January to March the temperatures are higher and the humidity level also rises, moreover the island could be hit by cyclones.
    • Advice: Pack a light suitcase: summer and spring clothes will be enough for you to enjoy the mild climate of the island. Of course, it is extremely important to bring sunscreen, hats and sunglasses to protect yourself from UV rays. At dusk and dawn, it is recommended to have long-sleeved clothing and covered legs to avoid attacks from mosquitoes that can transmit malaria. Don't forget your swimsuit!

    1. Lokobe Nature Reserve: 9 square km of forest located to the southwest where both plant and animal endemic species live, such as lemurs
    2. Andilana Beach: offers a wonderful landscape and an uncontaminated sea, with clear water and crystal clear beach
    3. Nosy Tanikely: an uninhabited atoll where humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and other marine life components swim around the coral reef. It is located just 4km from the island and is connected daily by sea.

    5. Nosy Kombe: the island of lemurs, giant tortoises, chameleons and boa constrictors is located between Nosy Be and Madagascar
    6. Dzamandzar: a small town where you will find a distillation plant (open to tourists) and you can discover how sugar cane becomes rum
    7. Mont Passot: from its 329 meters high you can contemplate an incredible landscape including many volcanic lakes
    8. Nosy Iranja: it is 50km from Nosy Be but it is a real pearl of Madagascar, where even the turtles go to lay their eggs and where you will find the most crystalline water
    9. Routs des lacs: you will find many organized sightseeing tours that will take you to cover the most evocative volcanic lakes of the island, such as Anjavibe, Bemapaza, Antisity and many more
    10. Amporaha Beach: to reach it you will have to cross wonderful bamboo forests and for this alone it deserves to be visited
