Mount Tianmen: the Gate of Heaven in China

In almost all known religions and mythologies there is mention of heaven, a kind of otherworldly world where the souls of the most deserving are destined to spend eternity, after the death of the body. Many, since the dawn of time, have wondered if there was a physical access, right on Earth, that would lead to this fantastic world where the sufferings and efforts of life can be repaid. If we told you that the Gate of Heaven does it really exist, and is it in China? Obviously it is not a "magic" portal that connects two worlds, but a suggestive natural cave in the shape of an arch. Crossing this "celestial" threshold will not take you to the otherworldly Paradise, but the enchanting sight it is equally guaranteed.

This is the first glass walkway called "The Walk of Faith". Inaugurated in November 2011, it has attracted many visitors. Walk this walkway it is not an activity for the faint of heart. How would you feel walking 1400 meters high on a completely transparent surface and saggy-looking? Whoever did it testified that it feels like walking in heaven. The effect is certainly unique, thanks to the underlying scenario where nature seems to give the best of itself. The walkway is closed in winter when it is covered with ice. In August 2016 a new catwalk was inaugurated, called "The Spiraled Dragon Walk", a new way to enjoy (in a terrifying or fun way, the choice is yours!) the breathtaking surrounding spectacle. From the walkway you can admire the path that leads from the top of the mountain to the valley and the Tongtian Avenue (Heaven-Linking Avenue), or the famous road with 99 hairpin bends.
