1 - Castelmola, Province of Messina

2 - Castiglione di Sicilia, Province of Catania

Characteristic village of the Etna Park and the Alcantara River Park. You can start the visit from piazza Lauria, and then head towards piazza Sant'Antonio, where the church dedicated to the saint is located with a beautiful baroque facade. 3 - Erice, Province of Trapani

4 - Cefalù, Province of Palermo

It is a village located on the Sicilian coast, protected by a fortress and known for its imposing Norman cathedral of the XII century. Similar to a fortress, it has wonderful Byzantine mosaics and tall twin towers. In addition to the cathedral, you cannot leave Cefalù without having seen the medieval wash house, which is accessed via a lava stone staircase and the Mandralisca Museum, which houses a portrait of Antonello da Messina.

5 - Salemi, Province of Trapani

Located in the heart of the Belice Valley, this is one Arab-medieval city counted among the most beautiful towns and villages of Sicily and Italy.
Do not miss the Norman Swabian Castle of 1077 and located at the highest point of the city, the nearby remains of theformer Mother Church, which was damaged by the earthquake of 1968 and which today retains only a pate of the external walls.

6 - Sperlinga, Province of Enna

It's a cute one village in the Sicilian hinterland located between the Nebrodi and the Madonie mountains. The name derives from the Greek Spelonca (cave), precisely because the local population built their homes directly from bare stone.
Its most important attraction is the Rock Castle, which is reached by a narrow staircase carved into the rock made up of 80 steps. On the side of the castle stands the Borgo Rupestre, an area characterized by numerous cave dwellings dating back to prehistoric times. At the foot of the castle there is the Chiesa della Mercede, then also to see the Mother Church and that of Sant'Anna, as well as all the places around Sperlinga full of caverns.

7 - Sutera, Province of Caltanissetta

Nestled at the foot of Monte San Paolino, there is the medieval village of Sutera. A maze of narrow streets and steep cobbled streets, houses piled one on top of the other that are distributed among churches and fascinating ruins inhabited by just over a thousand people.

11 - Sambuca di Sicilia, Province of Agrigento

It boasts ancient roots and is rich in Byzantine, Arab and Norman settlements and urbanizations. The Latins called it "Mons albus" (white mountain) because it appears perched on the Nebrodi and overlooks huge pastures, woods and plateaus. 13 - Aci Trezza, Province of Catania

15 - Noto, Province of Syracuse
