1 - Alberona (Foggia)

It is a small village in the province of Foggia and its historic center was marked by the presence of the Templars. Just think of the Mother Church, built by the Knights Templar, which retains some traces such as the military tower and two stone slabs with the coat of arms of the Knights of Malta. Stroll through Piazza Civetta where the neo-Gothic church of San Rocco is located, continuing you will find many fountains (Alberona is in fact known as the "village of a hundred fountains"), the Palazzo and the Tower of the Grand Prior (th century), the Calabrese arch and that of the Thousand.

2 - Bovino (Foggia)

The small village it consists of many white houses, steep stairways, stone houses e noble palaces.

3 - Cisternino (Brindisi)

Whitewashed houses, narrow alleys, blind courtyards and stairways, arches and flowered balconies: this village is an example of spontaneous architecture which does not follow a logic, if not that dictated by practical reasons.

A perfect place to stroll and get lost, admiring historic buildings such as the Norman-Swabian tower and the church overlooking the square.
They deserve a visit there Church of St. Nicholas, the Episcopal Palace and other noble palaces.
The town began to develop between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries outside the walls, and an interesting thing to see are some buildings in via San Quirico with liberty decorations.

4 - Maruggio (Taranto)

It is located on the Ionian-Salento coast, 30 km south of Taranto and its charm is to be found in the landscape in which it is immersed, dominated by mighty ancient olive trees and with the presence of farms, votive chapels, trulli and dry stone walls that surround the countryside.
Its village is a mosaic of narrow and winding streets, overlooked by very beautiful old houses. Several palaces and churches bear evidence of the presence of the Templars and Knights of Malta, as in the Mother Church of SS. Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the Palazzo del Commendatore and, outside the walls, the Church of San Giovanni.

5 - Otranto (Lecce)

From Porta Alfonsina you enter the city of Otranto which, with the towers of the walls, offers a splendid example of military architecture and fortification built by the Aragonese after the Turkish devastation of 1480.

The old town is a labyrinth of alleys that lead to the sea, streets paved with stone, squares that open onto magnificent views. In addition to the port and the historic center full of shops and souvenirs, not to be missed the small Byzantine basilica of San Pietro which holds Byzantine frescoes, the magnificent Aragonese Castle, surrounded by a moat, theMessapian hypogeum in the Valley of Memories.

6 - Locorotondo (Bari)

It is "the most beautiful terrace of the Murgia dei Trulli".
From its balconies you can in fact enjoy one fascinating view of the vineyards, woods and olive groves that surround the ancient farms, on the many trulli. 7 - Presicce (Lecce)

It is part of the Most beautiful towns and villages of Puglia. The visit starts from via Roma and continues to the center where the Church of the Madonna del Carmine is located, the neo-Gothic Arditi Castle, the Ducal Palace and Piazza del Popolo, with underground oil mills in the underground areas. 8 - Pietramontercorvino (Foggia)

9 - Specchia (Lecce)

E' a small Salento village with a medieval imprint. With the narrow streets, the Catalan and Baroque portals, the Lecce stone frames, the wrought iron loggias, the hanging arches, that of Specchia is one of the most suggestive historical centers.

10 - Vico del Gargano (Foggia)

Nicknamed the "land of love", this village is part of the Gargano National Park and Mountain Community of Gargano.

11 - Alberobello (Bari)

Enchanting hilltop village of Valle d'Itria famous all over the world for his Trulli.
Alberobello is a tangle of winding alleys, with more than 1.000 trulli, small stone houses without windows, or with a small and simple window in a square or rectangular shape, white in color with a gray cone roof.

12 - Rodi Garganico (Foggia)

It is part of the Gargano National Park and the Gargano Mountain Community. It is perched on a promontory overlooking the sea. Due to the presence of numerous citrus groves, fig trees, olive trees, carob and pine trees, it is also called "Giardino del Gargano".

13 - Polignano a Mare (Bari)

14 - Ostuni (Brindisi)

A light point in the green of the olive trees.
The candor of Ostuni stands out among the karst rocks of the Murge, among the composite stones of the dry stone walls and the trulli of the Itria Valley. The conformation and the whiteness of the houses of the ancient core are a classic example of Mediterranean architecture.

15 - Gallipoli (Lecce)

In the Apulia Salento, Gallipoli is known as the "Pearl of the Ionian".
Stretching out over the Ionian Sea, the town is divided into two parts: the village and the historic center.
In the historic center stands the Castle, near the bridge that connects the old Gallipoli, enclosed on an islet, to the new one. Dating back to the th century, it was built under the Angevin dominion.

16 - Vieste (Foggia)

"La Perla del Gargano" is the easternmost village of the homonymous promontory. The coastal town is a real onebiological island surrounded by the Adriatic Sea and from the plain of the TaFlightsere di Puglia.
Preserve an antique medieval quarter with stepped alleys from which there are beautiful glimpses between the white houses.

The village boasts a very high internal biodiversity. In fact, around 600 caves (mainly marine), 2.000 plant species, 18 genera with 65 species of orchids and 170 different species of nesting birds. This environmental condition has favored the establishment of the Gargano National Park, which covers over 100 thousand hectares.
Symbolic, the Vieste lighthouse, on the rock of Sant'Eufemia, unique in the Adriatic for the three long rays that flood the immensity of the sea with light up to about 50 km away. According to legend, Vesta, wife of Noah, founder of the city, is buried here.

17 - Gravina in Puglia (Bari)

Lying on the edge of a ravine, the charming town is an area characterized by the presence of puli and ravines.
Much of the city extends in fact on the bank of one ravine more than 100 meters deep.

Almost poised on the hill, perched on a promontory outside the town, the remains of Castello Svevo Church of Our Lady of Grace and Cathedral Basilica, on the edge of a crevasse and with a wonderful view of the ravine.
Under the built-up area, there is a underworld made of tunnels, cellars, rock churches, granaries, seventeenth-century ovens. From piazza Benedetto XIII the steps leading to the oldest neighborhoods, between the medieval houses and the rock churches (the most important is the one dedicated to the patron saint San Michele).

18 - Castellana Grotte (Bari)

It is best known for the karst complex of the Castellana Caves.

19 - Santa Maria di Leuca (Lecce)

The extreme southern tip of Puglia it is an extremely suggestive place, coveted by many over the centuries.

20 - Peschici (Foggia)

Coastal village which stands on a hill in the Gargano area, facing the sea.

Among the religious architectures we remember the parish church of Sant'Elia, the sixteenth century little church of San Michele, that of Our Lady of Loreto. Definitely to visit the castle, built by the Byzantines towards the end of the 900th century.
But Peschici is above all one seaside resort. We mention the beach of Jalillo, also known as the world map; Marina di Peschici, with fine sand and perfect waves for surfing; Zaiana beach, Cala and Procinisco Bay.
The sky-line is characterized by Trabucchi, tools used for fishing for passing fish, built with wooden poles intertwined with wires and pulleys. In the village there are even seven, some of which have been transformed into very characteristic restaurants.
