I wanted to tell you about my holiday in Madrid in the summer of 2014,? a city? beautiful, the ancient and majestic architecture reminded me that? ruled by a King,? cos? elegant!
Its main street, the Gran Via,? full of trendy shops, luxury hotels and very cozy, if a little expensive, bars and clubs.
And this ? the only flaw in Madrid, to eat you have to spend a little, otherwise you have to settle for a bocadillo, a ham sandwich that can? get to dinner without affecting the budget too much ...
For breakfast I recommend the Horno Santa Maria which is located near the king's palace, where you can enjoy many types of pastries and a good coffee? with milk that looks like our cappuccino.
There are museums for all tastes, the most? famous? the Prado, a botanical garden that with an admission of only 4,00 euros allows you to see all kinds of plants and flowers, a true paradise!
In addition there are many parks including one with a small lake equipped with boats that can be rented to take a tour and admire everything that surrounds us, relaxing ... c '? also a great zoo for those who love animals.
Our hotel was one step away from the metro and so? I was able to move quickly and visit all the tourist places, to be honest in just 4 days we were able to visit the whole city? and the Prado.
The squares pi? famous in Madrid are Plaza Mayor which is located in the heart of the city, a few meters from Puerta del sol and Palacio Real,? surrounded by arcades and three-storey buildings.
It was built by various architects but, after being destroyed more? times from fires,? been rebuilt, can you? ' admire the statue of Philip III, the Casa de la Panaderia, which in the past was the most? Madrid's great bakery and the Arco de Cuchilleros, which? the door pi? famous of the nine entrances to the square. The cheerful atmosphere that reigned in the streets and squares of this beautiful city? they literally enchanted us ...
The summer ? the best season to visit it, in June we found 30 degrees but without humidity? and with a breeze that allowed us to walk without sweating n? feel fatigued.
A square to see absolutely? Puerta del Sol where is the statue of the bear that? the symbol of the city? Madrid just why? many lived in the woods that surrounded it.
The Gran Via? one of the main arteries of the city, starts from Calle de Alcal? and ends in plaza de Espana,? the commercial heart of Madrid, lined with trendy shops,? destination for walks and shopping.
At night it turns into the center of the city's nightlife.
Highly recommended destination, a capital full of charm and cultural interests, its characteristic neighborhoods (the wonderful Seville district, full of colored ceramics that adorn the walls), its parks to rest and cool off, in Madrid nothing is missing!
See you next vacation ...
