Clearwater Beach it is a "great seaside resort". We have heard it said several times and with conviction in this tourist-residential area of Pinellas County. We are on the central west coast of Florida, right in the middle of the Gulf Coast which boasts 361 days of sunshine a year in a morphologically captivating area with islands and islets scenically connected to each other.

Clearwater Beach offers the opportunity to take walks on a beautiful coastline, fine white sand, crystal clear waters of the gulf, warm sunshine and lots of hospitality, beach and sporting activities, beautiful surroundings, culinary delights and shopping in the Village or along the Beach Walk. There is always something special to do in this beach town and its popular beach!

Where is it and how to get there

Clearwater Beach, easily accessible from Tampa via Route 60, is located just west of the city of Clearwater to which it belongs and to which it is connected via the Memorial Causeway Bridge (continuation of Route 60) which crosses the Intracoastal Waterway . The town develops along a strip of land called barrier island characterized by a long white sand coast facing the gulf that extends for 5,5 kilometers.

Through another short bridge, the Gulf Boulevard Bridge, the town is connected to the south to an island called Sand Key on which the homonymous park is located, which boasts a superlative beach, white and impalpable. In a nutshell: we are in a beautiful area!

Clearwater Beach is approximately 30 kilometers from theTampa airport (4100 George J. Bean Pkwy) and 40 kilometers from downtown Tampa while theSt. Pete-Clearwater airport (14700 Terminal Pkwy - Clearwater) is in the immediate vicinity. As international Airport we point out that of Miami (2100 NW 42nd Ave.) approximately 4 and a half hours away.

The climate

Clearwater Beach ha un climate subtropical with basically dry winters, hot and humid summers with frequent thunderstorms. Two thirds of the annual rainfall falls in the months from June to September. So to enjoy Clearwater Beach at its best, you just have to try to evaluate the ideal moment even if Mother Nature does not always respect the rules. The maximum temperatures during the year usually vary between 18 ° and 35 ° C. Taking all the weather factors into account, our trips to Florida oscillate between March and mid-April.

What to see in Clearwater Beach

La long coastal strip facing the Atlantic Ocean has often given Clearwater Beach the designation of "Best beach town"In Florida. Precisely for this reason, despite many things that can be done here, the main attraction, the fulcrum, is the beach defined by the locals as “almost perfect”; a pretty good business card! Indeed, the sight of the white sand, its soft touch, the blue of the sea, the sun and the breeze would be enough to feel totally at peace with yourself and the world, but there are many outdoor that are fervent here. Parasailing, kate surfing, jet skiing, boat trips (including dolphin watching), deep sea fishing and gulf cruises are among the most popular.

Il Pier 60 (Pier 60) at the end of State Road 60 is a vital and central point for everyone, with a playground, snack bar, gift shop and fishing opportunities. And then two hours before the sun goes down, the highlight of each day begins Sunset at Pier 60 which sees street artists perform with particular feats and moments of entertainment for all while the shades of the sky are repeatedly photographed, a bit like what happens in Mulberry Square in Key West.

The desire to stay on the pier and party continues even after sunset with the sale of local crafts and open activities. One starts from the pier paved cycle path lined with mangrove trees; it is valuable and highly regarded, and runs parallel to the Clearwater Memorial Causeway which connects to the mainland and Clearwater. The beautiful white sand and shallow clear water make the beach an ideal playground for families. Some prefer to rent a tent (a beach cabana), a deck chair or a more classic umbrella while others prefer to walk towards the north side of the beach, more residential, for a bit of tranquility away from the busy Pier 60 and the Clearwater Marina.

Il free parking in downtown Clearwater is of great help as the ferry takes you comfortably to Clearwater Beach. The most typical promenade, close to the beach, starts just south of pier 60 where there are also bicycle racks, fountains and showers to rinse off the sand. The project that has given further impetus to the area has also affected the dunes that develop close to the sidewalk adjacent to the beach and enhance the natural beauty of the area. For those interested, directly opposite the pier on the other side of the canal is the marina which offers deep sea fishing and rowing activities.
