It takes an hour to swim in this pool. If you are trained, maybe a little less. You do. Calculate that it is one kilometer long. The swimming pool San Alfonso del Mar Resort di Carob treein Chile, about a hundred kilometers from Santiago, entered the Guinness World Record as a swimming pool largest in the world.
A few numbers? An extension of 8 hectares, 1 km long and 250 million liters of sea water. It takes well to fill it two and a half million liters of water strictly from the sea, filtered by the Pacific Ocean on which it overlooks. The water taken from the ocean is purified using very few chemicals and is kept in perfect condition: the blue is truly crystalline.
In some places it is even 35 meters deepin fact, more than a swimming pool it looks like a lake. It is so big that you can go sailing, surfing and all sorts of water sports.
It took well five years to make it happen, given its disproportionate size.
