Big cities are not just smog, chaos and traffic: indeed, they are very many the big capitals which include within their administrative or peripheral borders beautiful urban parks, an ideal place where both citizens and tourists can find rest and relaxation often in the shade of large trees or on the shore of water areas such as small lakes or streams. Many of these parks have developed around ancient residences and royal palaces, but not only: let's see some of the gods together most beautiful urban parks in the world.



15 - Stanley Park, Vancouver (Canada)

Stanley Park is largely made up of one temperate rain forest almost entirely surrounded by water. As can be seen from a first glance, the architect Jon Jerde opted for a decidedly naturalistic intervention: in fact, the Namba Parks, in addition to high towers and numerous shops and restaurants, is composed of aurban oasis with terraces, a narrow central canyon, vegetable gardens, waterfalls. With its 900 acres, Munich's Englischer Garten is one of the largest urban parks in Europe. Created in 1789, it is recommended to rent a bike to take a wide tour that allows you to observe the numerous corners of greenery and water and the equally numerous attractions dedicated to relaxation, such as the famous Chinese Tower, a well-known restaurant with a capacity of over 7.000 seats and a reference point for beer enthusiasts.

Immense park founded in 1873, home to several important museums such as the Tokyo National Museum and National Museum of Western Art. From a natural point of view, Ueno park is known for the cherry blossoms in the spring season: inside there are about 8.000 cherry trees.


8 - Parc des Buttes-Chamount, Paris (France)

This is the steepest park in Paris, a favorite of tourists: it is thethird largest park in the French capital. Built on the largest of the ancient gypsum quarries typical of this district, inside there is also the famous one Temple of the Sibyl, as well as one 30 meters high cliff, having a 173-step staircase which allows you to reach the lake, fed by 2 streams and its 1,5 hectare surface.

Beautiful and very important green lung, essential for the city center of London. Divided into two parts by the artificial lake Seprentine Lake, the main entrance to the park consists of a row of Ionic columns, with three vaulted passages to allow the entry of carriages.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park was designed by Antonio Gaudi and was built between 1900 and 1914. Its extension is about 17,18 hectares, and is located on a hill around Barcelona: it is the favorite place for relaxation for many citizens.

Small nature reserve of 1,64 km2 located near the downtown Singapore, on the slopes of the highest hill. The type of nature that is found is that typical of one rain forest, and within it can be found beyond 500 species of animals it's about 840 varieties of flowers.

Villa Doria Pamphilj is the largest urban public park in Rome: opened in 1972, it has a vastness of 184 hectares. There are numerous attractions inside the park: in addition to the Villa Pamphilj it is possible to admire the giardino segreto cupid fountain, the pond, the great oak, streams and ponds.

Also known as the "Ecological Park", this immense park covers over 27 km2, of which 19 are land and 8 are water. Among the main attractions inside, we remember the great Skansen open-air museum, the great architectural buildings and the impressive oaks.

712 hectares of extension for this splendid park in Dublin, surrounded by a wall with a perimeter of 16 km. Inside there are the residence of the President of the Republic of Ireland, the famous Zoo opened in 1831, the Papal Cross erected following the 1979 visit of Pope John Paul II and the imposing monument in Wllington, 62 meters high.
